What auto 4x4 do you recommend?

Hi, need your recommendation please. Need a 4x4, automatic with good boot space and also comfort for driving. Have BMW 520 and Mitsubishi Outlander but don't need two cars anymore.

Our answer:

Hi Judy,

OK. If you want to keep up the luxury end of things, you could essentially combine both your current cars into one – an Audi Q5 or BMW X3 would seem to fit that bill. They’re expensive things though, and you may want to be either down-sizing or at least down-costing. How about one of the Volkswagen twins then? Either the Skoda Octavia Scout or SEAT Leon X-Perince should fit your bill just about perfectly. If you like your Outlander, then a look at the current Outlander PHEV plugin hybrid is worth a try – a really nice car and it gets you a foot on the electric car ladder. Or, as a final option, Subaru has a new Outback coming very soon. It probably won’t be the most sophisticated car out there, but it’ll be comfy and endlessly reliable.
