There are some niggling electronic problems to keep an eye out for, especially the central locking system and the chunky all-electronic key fob. Make sure the car locks, unlocks, starts and stops properly. If it's the 1.6 diesel check to see when the timing belt was last done and if it's had the water pump replaced. And check what kind of mileage the previous owner was doing - low miles could mean an exhaust diesel particulate filter on the way out.
