Do you need more space or more refinement? That’s the straight choice here, as the Polo is a supermini (B-segment) and the Astra is a family hatch (C-segment), so the Opel is the bigger car. Therefore, if you need lots of space, it’s the better bet. The Polo will be a bit quieter and smoother to drive, though, but neither of them would make a bad purchase.
