The price the car is in the UK won't matter to Revenue. It takes the OMSP (Open Market Selling Price) as the value of the car after registration in Ireland. The good news is that the VRT rate should only be seven per cent if the CO2 rating is 50g/km. 

Then it's kind of guesswork on the OMSP. If it's €125,000, then the VRT bill will be €8,750 for example, so you'll need to look around at values in Ireland to try to gauge how much Revenue will say it's worth. 

Also, don't forget you will have to pay VAT and import duty if the car comes from England, Scotland or Wales.
