The VRT bill hinges on both the WLTP CO2 rating and something called the OMSP. The latter stands for Open Market Selling Price, and it's the value Revenue reckons the car will be worth in Ireland. It's not always easy to guess what that will be, but for the purposes of our calculations let's assume it's €37,000.
Our information is that the CO2 rating for the NX 300h Luxury is 121g/km (it may vary slightly from model to model, so watch for that), which means a VRT rate of 16.75 per cent.
If the OMSP is €37,000, then the VRT bill would be 16.75 per cent of that - i.e. €6,197.50.
