VRT on an imported Porsche Cayman?
Hi, I'm looking at buying a 2008 3.4L Porsche cayman s with 110k miles, cost would be €13,879 finished in viper green and has standard engine . Just wondering how much the vrt would be for this? Thanks.

Hi Sib,
That car will be in the top band for VRT, at 41 per cent of the so-called Open Market Selling Price (OMSP). This is not what you pay for the car, but what Revenue believes the car to be worth after registration in Ireland. It's not easy to guess at what that will be for such a rare car, but for example, if Revenue says the OMSP is €35,000, then the VRT bill would be €14,350 before the NOx levy.
Don't forget about VAT and import duty if you're bringing the car in from England, Scotland or Wales.
