Our information is that the CO2 emissions rating for that car was 164g/km, but on the old 'NEDC' cycle, so that figure will be uplifted by Revenue to an equivalent WLTP number. That comes out as well over the 191g/km barrier to the top rate of VRT, meaning 41 per cent payable. Then it's a case of trying to guess what Revenue will say the car is worth. Remember, that's the Open Market Selling Price (OMSP), which is not directly related to what you paid for the car... I'd estimate about €38,000 for that, which would mean a potential VRT bill of €15,580.
