VRT on a Porsche 911?

VRT on a Porsche 911?

Hi, Any idea how much VRT would be for a 2003/2005 911 C4S or C2S from the UK (gbp price around 20k). Thanks, Al

Our answer:

Hi Alan,

To calculate the VRT we need two things: the CO2 rating to determine the VRT band and the Open Market Selling Price (OMSP). We can be certain that any 911 from 2003-2005 will be in the top VRT band, at 41 per cent.

The OMSP is far trickier to guess as it's the figure Revenue believes the car to be worth registered on the Irish market. It's especially difficult to estimate for rare cars such as the 911, and obviously it'll vary massively from say, a 2003 C2S to a 2005 C4S.

If, for example, Revenue says the OMSP is €50,000, then your VRT bill would be €20,500.
