Can someone kindly advise an estimate on VRT of the following since it is not available on the VRT calculator and NCT centres First registered 01/05/2014 Porsche Boxster S with PDK 35k miles
Hi Albert,
We can help with an estimate, but everything hinges on what Revenue deems to be the car's Open Market Selling Price (OMSP), which is what it believes to be the value the car would sell for in Ireland, including its VRT. That's not very easy to guess for niche models such as the Boxster, but let's assume for the calculations that it's €58,000.
The CO2 rating for that car was 190g/km, but that's an NEDC figure and Revenue has a formula to 'uplift' it to a WLTP-equivalent number. Obviously that will take it into the highest VRT band (for cars emitting more than 191g/km), so VRT is 41 per cent of the OMSP. That works out as €23,780 if the OMSP is €58,000.
