Hi , any idea what the VRT on a 2014 Boxster would be ? Thanks
Hi Ian,
That will vary massively depending on the specific car, as it's a factor of the value of the car that Revenue places on it and its CO2 rating.
Let's assume a value of €40,000 for the sake of argument and an NEDC CO2 rating of 195g/km.
Now, on import, Revenue will uplift that CO2 rating to 214g/km, which means a VRT rate of 37 per cent, which, going on our €40,000 example, would mean VRT of €14,800.
Don't forget about the NOx levy on top of that and, if the car is coming from any part of the UK other than Northern Ireland, VAT and import duty.
