VRT on a 2001 Boxster from NI?

VRT Q, 2001 Porsche Boxster 3.2 S... from NI what should I be expecting to pay to bring this in... thanks

Our answer:

Hi Paul,

That's going to be a tricky thing to calculate, mostly because it's not easy to guess what value Revenue will apply to the car. Let's assume it's €10,000, though it should be less, which means the VRT calculated below is hopefully over-estimated.

The CO2 emissions of that car brings it into the 37 per cent VRT bracket, which would mean €3,700. You'll have to pay a NOx levy as well, which maxes out at €600 for a petrol-fuelled car.
