Right, so the C 63 will emit around 280g/km, while the Focus RS emits 225g/km. That places the Merc in Band G (36 per cent of the Open Market Selling Price) while the Ford just squeaks into Band F (34 per cent of the OMSP).  The problem you have, of course, is that neither car was sold in great numbers in Ireland, so they’re thin on the ground as second-hand purchase – making determining their OMSP tricky to do. We reckon the C 63 is going to be around €25,000 to €30,000, while the Focus is more like €20,000 to €25,000. Therefore, the VRT on each will be between €9,000-€10,800 for the C 63, and €6,800-€8,500 for the Focus RS.
