Hello, I am looking at a Porsche Cayman in London . I’m trying to gauge the VRT . Do you have an estimated figure ?Porsche Cayman 2.7L automatic 01/03/2007 Odometer: 70000km.
Hi Tom,
To estimate the VRT we need the CO2 rating and an estimate of the Open Market Selling Price (OMSP). The latter is the value Revenue believes the car to be worth after registration in Ireland so it's not easy to guess, especially for a relatively rare car. For the sake of our calculations, let's assume an OMSP of €20,000.
It'll be in the top band for VRT with CO2 emissions exceeding 191g/km, so VRT is 41 per cent of the OMSP - i.e. €8,200.
This is very much an estimate.
You'll have to pay the NOx levy as well of course, plus, if it's coming from London, VAT and import duty.
