How much is the VRT including NoX on a 2005-2008 Porsche Boxster 2.7? Looking at importing from NI so no 10% levy but can’t find VRT info anywhere
Hi Conor,
Estimating the precise VRT you'll be charged is difficult, as it depends on how much Revenue says the car's Open Market Selling Price will be. This is nothing to do with how much you paid for it and, as there are so few of them about, it would be difficult to predict. A quick look in our database shows an early model at €19,000 and a 2009 car at €35,000, so somewhere between those makes sense.
The VRT rate depends on CO2 emissions and the Boxster will bit in the highest bracket with emissions of more than 191g/km. That means VRT of 41 per cent. So, if the car is worth (according to Revenue), for example, €25,000, the VRT will be 41 per cent of that, which is €10,250.
You'll have to get the NOx figure of the car to work out the NOx levy, but it's a maximum of €600 for petrol models anyway.
