VAT and VRT on new Vitara?

VAT and VRT on new Vitara?

Vet and vat on new Suzuki Vitara

Our answer:

Hi Danny,

OK, assuming you mean a new €21,995 Vitara SZT-MT with the 1.6-litre petrol engine, VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax) is charged at 18 per cent (based on 123g/km of CO2 leading to a Band B1 rate of VRT), which comes to €3,959, which leaves a VRT-exclusive price of €18,036. That includes VAT at 23 per cent, which is €4,148, which leaves you with a wholesale price of €13,888.
