That will vary from model to model of course. For the purposes of this answer, I'm going to take the mid-level Allure model from Peugeot Ireland's brochure, the 1.5 BlueHDI 130hp auto. The retail price is €38,330 in Ireland and its emissions rating is 121g/km. 

The latter figure puts it in Band 11 for VRT, at 16.75 per cent. As that's calculated on the Open Market Selling Price (OMSP - i.e. €38,330 in this case), then the VRT is simply 16.75 per cent of €38,330, or €6,420.28.

The VAT rate is 23 per cent, which has already been applied, so that's €7,167.40.
