Your car is worth anything between €11,000 and €14,000, depending on the spec and mileage. On a trade-in, you’ll get a little less. There’s no real high point for swapping a car in in terms of getting more value, unless you’re buying brand-new from a main dealer, in which case you want to trade it in before a new registration plate change – so for ‘1’ plates, any time leading up to January and, for ‘2’ plates, any time in June.
