Value of 1989 Isuzu I-Mark RS?

1989 Isuzu I Mark RS

Our answer:

Hi Rob,

Now THAT is a rare car. The I-Mark was the US name for the Isuzu Gemini, which began life in the 1970s as a rebadged Opel Kadett. By the time of the Mk2, which you have here, it was edgier and styled to resemble the Giugiaro-penned Piazza coupe (the Piazza was sold as the Impulse in the US), and the RS used a 16-valve, high-revving engine to deliver 125hp. Old-school, hot hatch thrills, right there.

It’s therefore something of a forgotten modern classic, but as to its value? We couldn’t tell you. It’s an imported US model of a very rare Japanese car that, in RS trim, was only built for one year and so it will find a hyper-niche buying market, limiting its widespread appeal – but those buyers, in turn, might spend way over the odds to get hold of it. Good luck with the sale, though!
