Used BMW 316i or 318i?
Hi, Given an option of the same engine size of (1597 CC) and BHP (136) for both 316i (2013) and 318i (2014-2016), would you consider going for 316i if the price difference is around 2-3K? I understand that 316i is discontinued and 318i would probably be a preferred model, but just wanted to know if 316i is a strict "No" and better ignored even if the specs are nearly the same? No, I’d call that a bit of a canny buy. Second hand buyers, or in other words the person you’re eventually going to sell that car on to, generally don’t care too much about the specificity of badges or equipment — they’re interested in condition, history and running costs. So if you can save €2-3,000 by going for a 316i over a 318i then I’d say go for it, all things being equal and the condition and history of the two cars being identical.
