Two quite different cars, so it’s a little tricky to directly compare them. The Hyundai is smaller than the X-Trail and unlike the Nissan doesn’t come with seven seats. The Tucson is smoother and quieter than the X-Trial, but perhaps not as responsive and the X-Trail has the better engine. The Tucson's cabin design and layout is a little nicer, but then the X-Trail is more roomy. Finally, the Tucson is cheaper to buy, and you’re getting a new car with a five-year warranty. Unless you really need the extra space and seats of the X-Trail, we’d go for the Tucson .
