We have a 2008 Golf GT with less than 50k on the clock and a 2006 Honda Civic with large mileage. We are looking at trading up to a new car, one that would suit a family of 3 as baby due Sept. Want to look at new cars and possible PCP options as work milage is 140km per day. What would you recommend taking into account trading in cars.
Hi Keith,
Well, you’ve got too solid cars there, both of which are in reasonable demand, so you have pretty open choices. A 2008 Golf will be worth around the €5-6,000 mark, and the 2006 Civic around €3,500. If you’ve got two kids already and another on the way, then a seven-seater sounds like a good option. Renault’s new Scenic is rather nice, as is the Volkswagen Touran, or the Toyota Verso. If you prefer something with an SUV shape, then consider a Peugeot 5008 (the new, and very impressive, one arrives in July) or the new Skoda Kodiaq. Also worth considering a SEAT Ateca or Hyundai Tucson, as both of those are just about wide enough for three child seats in the back.
