The current Kuga is, I feel, always something of an underrated car – it’s roomy, comfortable and really good to drive. So generally it’s the one I’d go for, but there’s no doubting the Toyota’s greater interior space and the fact that, on really bad roads, it has terrific chassis control. Plus it’s utterly reliable.
