When should the timing belt/water pump be changed on Peugeot 2008 with mileage of 53,000 kms Its a 172 Allure Puretech 1.2 petrol engine. It has a good service history and I'm considering purchasing it from a dealer and taking out the extra 2 year warranty on top of the standard 12 months . I doubt that the warranty would cover it ?
Hi Sean,
First up, a warranty will not cover a timing belt replacement, as it's seen as a serviceable item.
The interval for that car's belt replacement is 175,000km or 10 years, whichever comes first, so it's not due for a long time yet. Even after the first replacement the interval drops only to 100,000km or 6 years.
