We seriously hope there’s a typo there and you’re talking about 180,000 miles (or kilometres), and not 1.8 million miles!! If the latter, then yes – we’d say avoid the car, unless someone is giving it to you for free! If not, then you need to establish whether that’s 180,000 miles or 180,000km (112,500 miles). It won’t make a huge difference but with 180,000 miles, we’d say ensure the car has a spotless service history and maintenance record, and also make sure it’s in very good condition now. If it’s 180,000km, you still want to check the history but that’s nothing out of the ordinary for a six-year-old Mazda, while the company is known for making very reliable cars.
