Thoughts on this Accord...
Dear sir/madam. Good evening. I was thinking of buying a 2012 Honda Accord 2.2 diesel EX automatic with 106,000 thousand miles on the clock, Full Honda history. In your humble opinion how much would you pay for it in this present climate? 2 question is, how many miles would this Honda engine realistically last in its life time? I’m taking a punt that if I carried on giving it a Full Honda service I could possibly get 350.000-400.000!! Am I being optimistic? How good is this Engine? Thanks ??

That car should still be worth something like €10,000 to €11,000 and you’re not being overly optimistic – if any car is capable of putting on mammoth mileage, it’s a Honda. With care and attention, there’s no reason why the Accord wouldn’t be able to do a million kilometres, so 500,000 is well within its reach. Of course, you have to add up the numbers and check whether maintaining it at the very highest miles is worth it (it’ll need a new turbo or two if you’re going to keep running it for hundreds of thousands of km), but in theory that distance is possible.
