Thoughts on the Skoda diesel engines?
Hi Shane. Is there issues with the 1.6 litre diesel engines made by VW. I am told by a few mechanics to stay away from 1.6 diesel.I am looking at skoda octavia 1.6 diesel.or 2 litre.

Hi Martin,
There's no doubt that the 2.0-litre or even the older 1.9-litre engines are more robust and reliable than the 1.6. The latter seem fine for light use, relatively speaking, and the 1.6 is very economical.
