Hello! I received an advisory for my Nissan Micra 2005 1.0 petrol, that the clutch is worn out. The garage owner told me it will cost 650 euros to replace. Is this a fair price or is it too inflated. What would be the normal cost of the part and what would the labour cost be approximately? Thank you.
Hi Stanley,
That doesn't sound outrageous to be honest as it's a big job and the parts are expensive. It's usually not just the clutch disc that gets changed, but also the pressure plate and thrust bearing.
Every garage has their own labour rates so ring around a few different ones if you have any doubts. Likewise, the parts themselves can vary considerably in price depending on where the garage is getting them from.
