Thoughts on the 1.0-litre Astra?

I am buying an opel asta hatchback 171. Its a 1litre engine and i wonder is it a good idea. There is !2.000 kilometers. Also i got 10.500 for astra saloon in trade in Was that a fair price. Car was very clean and had 55.600 on clock should i buy i litre car.

Our answer:

Hi William,

Assuming your Astra Saloon was a 2015 model, and depending on the condition and history, that sounds like a fair enough trade-in, albeit one at the lower end of the value range. The current-shape 1.0-litre Astra is an absolute belter of a car, and well worth buying. Don’t worry about the engine size, as thanks to low-pressure turbo tech it has more than enough power for the job, and is actually rather lovely to drive. The only downside is a slightly small fuel tank that means a few extra stops on a long journey.
