Thoughts on Octavia RS belt?

Hi, I have a 2017 January Skoda Octavia 2.0 L diesel vRS with 215,000 miles. I'm getting differing answers about when to change the timing belt, and also was told the water pump needs changing with it. the waterpump i expected that, but have since been told that a couple of years ago the waterpump was upgraded and doesnt need to be done with the belt? My gut instinct is do the two together, at this mileage? What is the correct way to go? Thanks.

Our answer:

Hi Nigel,

Well the belt and tensioner should be changed every 210,000km, regardless of time. There doesn't appear to be any set schedule to change the water pump, but it is always good practice to do so when changing the belt, as there is very little extra labour involved.
