Thoughts on a Toyota diesel?
I am thinking of buying a Toyota diesel 1.4 but how economical are they in comparison to other similar cars and do they hold value for trading in in 3 years time

Hi Margaret,
They’re very economical — 50mpg should be easy, and with a bit of care and attention you might even stretch that to 60mpg. As far as residual value is concerned, it should be fine. The bad publicity surrounding diesel power hasn’t yet had an effect on the second hand market, and Toyota has a terrific reputation for resale value.
