Hi Shane, I have never cared about mileage on a car when buying as I have done anywhere from 20km - 50km in 12 months. I don't see the point in spending more on low mileage to loose all the value. Now I am looking to buy something more upmarket and if I go for something with 200km + I can save thousands, For example a 2017 Volvo S90 with 230km for around €13-€15k. Should I be worried about getting up to 300km with this car or once it has a full service history it's as much as a risk as any other mileage.. thanks for any feedback.
Hi Brian,
You certainly need to go into the purchase with your eyes wide open if you're buying a high-mileage car, but then again, diesels are made for that, so it's likely not to have a blocked DPF at least.
Only consider it if a) it means a significant price reduction and b) it has a detailed and complete service history.
After that it's a case of test driving and inspecting the car as much as you can before buying and investing in its upkeep.
Sounds to me like you know all this already. The S90 is no different to any other car in that regard.
