what do i need to look out for when buying a skoda superb, i have come across 59 reg 166k 2l tdi 170 dsg, isit chain driven or timing belt?
Hi there,
That engine uses a timing belt. It's quite a reliable car. High-spec models with keyless start and an auxiliary heater can give issues with those functions. All versions can have issues with the brake servo and steering wheel wiring, though these two things should be indicated by warning lights and messages in the dashboard. Other than that, as with any diesel of that age, watch out for a clogged DPF light.
