I'm afraid that the early Scenics have a terrible reputation for reliability. The engines aren't bad, but the electrics can cause a wide variety of annoying - and not cheap to fix - issues. If you are still tempted, just make sure you test every single switch and sub-system in the car before agreeing to the purchase. And ask for receipts and proof of work done so far.
