Thinking of trading in to a new Golf.
What should I expect to pay to change my 151 VW Golf 1.6 TDI CL DSG with 30,000km for a new 171 model in January. Might I get a better deal if I waited until March or April

Hi Pat,
Well, the Golf Comfortline has been replaced by the new Allstar model, and in 1.6 TDI DSG form you're looking at a new price of €28k. You should get around €16k to trade in your current car, so your cost to change will be about €12,000, but that will vary from garage to garage.
As for getting a better deal in March or April, yes that can help, but the best tactic is to wait till the last few days of March, when garages are trying to make sure they have their first quarter figures up, and try and strike a deal then.
