Your Beetle should be worth between €4,000 and €5,000 depending on its condition and history, maybe a bit less as a trade in. The Astra Coupé-Cabriolet was a decent enough car – the base Astra mechanical bits are solid and reliable, but the roof can cause issues. It’s heavy, for a start, which can cause extra strain on brakes, gearboxes and clutches and the folding mechanism itself can be troublesome – getting stuck halfway between up and down. Mind you, they’re surprisingly practical with decently sized back seats and a good boot when the roof’s not folded away. If you can find a well-cared for, low mileage example then it’s a good one.
