I am thinking of buying a 1.8 Vento from the UK, the car is older than 30 years but does it still qualify for the €200 VRT since Brexit as the VRT is only €200 for EU countries but England isn’t technically “EU” anymore. Thanks.
Hi Matthew,
VRT is all the same regardless of which country the car is being brought in from, so yes, a car of over 30 years old being brought in from the UK would attract a flat rate of €200. However, post-Brexit, you are likely to be liable for VAT at 23 per cent and import duty at 10 per cent.
