Thinking of getting a 151 Outlander...

Hi thinking of getting a 151 mitsubishi outlander hybrid. What are main issues with these I.e. batteries and auto gearbox if any?

Our answer:

Hi Eneas,

No major reliability issues as yet, and the batteries should be fine for at least another five or six years before they start to degrade to any serious extent. Plus, Mitsubishis come with a long warranty (eight years) so as long as the previous owner has kept it serviced and inspected at a Mitsubishi dealer, it should still be covered. The only worry is over fuel consumption. If you use the batteries to the fullest possible extent, and drive mostly around town, you should be OK, but on longer journeys and long motorway runs you’ll be lucky to get better than 30mpg.
