Check that the boot latch is working properly, and check for rust getting into the front wheel arches. Depending on the mileage it will be due a cam belt change in 2017 so check to see if that's been done before. Diesel models develop issues with the turbo and the exhaust gas recirculating (EGR) valve, too. A knocking sound from the front could be a faulty alternator, while a creaking sound is usually a broken steering arm. Air conditioning pipes crack and it's not unheard of for the instrument pack to fail and need replacing. Knocking from the suspension is usually the drop links.
