Of your selection, we’d go Hyundai Santa Fe, then Volkswagen Tiguan and finally the Ford Kuga. The Kuga is OK, but not Ford’s finest hour, and it’s out-thought/outmanoeuvred by the other two. The Tiguan is nice, especially the newer Mk2 models (2017-on), but it can be pricey in its more desirable specifications and, unless it’s an Allspace, it’s only a five-seater. The Santa Fe has just been replaced by an all-new Mk4 model, which is tremendous, but the Mk3 is still a fabulous seven-seat SUV and, if you buy one from 2013 onwards, it’ll still be under its five-year manufacturer warranty.
