Hi Brian,
As long as it’s not the 2.2 diesel, you should be OK. The 1.9 diesel is a decent engine, and has good reliability. You need to check the suspension bushes, the radiator mountings, the wheel hubs (listen for rumbling or grinding noises) and make sure it has a full and complete service history.
