I'm thinking of buying a 2016 Opel Mokka SE 1.7CDTI. What should I look out for? Have there been any issues with the car / engine etc
Hi Andrew,
The Mokka is quite a reliable vehicle and, if you’re looking at a 2016 model, then you’ll be avoiding the three main recalls on that car, which affected versions built between 2012-2015. About the worst thing that will happen on the 1.7 CDTi is the diesel particular filter may clog up if previous users only drove the vehicle for short periods; there are two ways to tell if this is already a problem – the first is an orange warning light in the dashboard, which should look like a box, containing circles, with two pipes running out of either side of it, and the second is an excess of black smoke during hard acceleration/cold start-up. Other than that, the Mokka is a fine urban crossover.
