That should be an early example of the current A4, so it’s a sound purchase. They can occasionally have infotainment issues, so check your phone pairs up to the system properly and that the screen doesn’t flicker or drop out unexpectedly (you’ll need to do this on an extended test drive, obviously), and if you’re a regular short-journey user, go for a petrol model rather than a TDI with the diesel particulate filter (DPF) fitted – otherwise, you won’t get the DPF hot enough to regenerate and you’ll have issues with it clogging up further down the line.
