The rear footwells in my Kia are wet...

water on floor of back footwell behind passenger seat, not coming in from inside vechile as far as i can see, had the under carriage checked also and no visable holes or anything anywhere, any ideas on how to solve this problem with my 2017 kia ceed would be greatly appreciated, as it's causing a bad smell in the car as floor is so wet.

Our answer:

Hi Claire,

There are no widespread issues known for that car so it's just general things to look for I'm afraid. Door seals can age and leave water in, sometimes only when the wind is from a certain direction, for example. Otherwise it could be a blocked drain from the sunroof (if you have one). Check if there's also dampness under the boot floor as that would point to sealing issues with the tailgate or the rear lights.
