I'm not sure what you mean by ‘special diesel’. The Freelander TD4 (assuming you mean the post-2006 second generation model) used Ford-based 2.2-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engines, with 150hp, 160hp, or 190hp, depending on the model. From 2009, there was an optional stop-start system available for those engines, and in 2011, a front-wheel drive e_d4 version was launched.
