Could you please tell me what duty and taxes have to be paid when importing a pre 1930 car to Ireland from the UK and does that differ for cars coming from the EU
Hi Gavin,
A flat VRT rate of €200 will be required regardless of where the car is coming from. That'll be the only duty/tax if it's coming from the EU.
If the car is coming from the UK, then there will also be VAT at 23 per cent and customs/import duty at 10 per cent of the price of the car plus shipping to Ireland.
