Taxes to import a hearse from Northern Ireland?

Hi i am looking to bring in a hearsette (estate mercedes with a deck in the back) from northern ireland into the south . I saw the answer you gave to pierce s bring it in from england .just wondering is it the same you might be able to help

Our answer:

Hi Martin,

Yes, that's right, meaning €200 flat rate for VRT and the possibility of import duty and VAT. Saying that, coming from the North, depending on the circumstances of when the vehicle was first imported into Northern Ireland, import duty and VAT may not be applicable. Best bet is to contact Revenue with full details before you commit to importing the car.
