Hello All at Carzone I wish ye well I am currently researching buying a 2013/2014 E class Merc Estate can you tell me please the variants available here in Ireland ???? are Classic Elegance and Advantgarde Is this the same also in The UK ???? Warmest regards Michael Roche
Hi Michael,
OK, so Classic is base spec, Elegance is kind of a mid-spec oriented to luxury and Avantgarde was a sportier trim grade; they were roughly the same in the UK, but over there they’ve dropped Avantgarde for Sport, which is a level down from AMG Line – the top trim in which a regular Mercedes looks like its flagship AMG version, but doesn’t have the mechanical upgrades to go with it. The Mercedes E-Class Estate you’re looking at is the ‘W212’ fourth-generation car, and in Ireland the most common examples are all four-cylinder diesels: the 170hp E 220 CDI, the 204hp E 250 CDI and the 231hp E 300 BlueTec Hybrid, which paired mild electric augmentation to the 2.1-litre twin-turbodiesel engine.
