SUV or estate for our family?

Our ‘07 S max is due an upgrade. We only drive c10k km per annum. 3 kids, youngest is 5 and 2 adults. What car would you recommend upgrading to? Should we stick with suv or choose a saloon or estate, etc? Thanks in advance

Our answer:

Hi Karen,

Now your kids are a little older and you don’t need big bulky child seats, you can probably get away with a big estate car (D-segment) – but the good news is that, if you consider an estate of such size, then most manufacturers will have an equivalent SUV for you to look at as well. So have a look at Opel (estate: Insignia Sports Tourer; SUVs: Mokka X and Grandland X), Skoda (estate: Superb Combi, SUVs: Karoq and Kodiaq) and Peugeot (SUVs: 3008 and 5008) – the last of these is due to bring out a 508 SW estate car soon, as well.
