Starting problems...

I've a 161 Nissan quashai tekna.. The auto stop just came on saying a fault.. I just had the battery replaced last month and now its happening again.. Now it takes for ever te start

Our answer:

Hi William,

While stop-start system issues are not uncommon at all, most of the time it points to a battery in poor health. However, if you've had that changed, and the car is actually difficult to start as well, we'd suggest that something else is amiss - perhaps the glow plugs. Bring the car back to the garage and tell them it's having problems starting. Don't focus on the stop-start system until that is sorted (I'd assume it will fix that too).
