Should we stick with VW on PCP?

Should we stick with VW on PCP?

I have a silver Tiguan on PCP - ending November 2018 with €11626 as the GFMV. will have just about the 60K kilometers. Should I refinance or go again with the Dealer on new PCP? My wife wants something bigger (Santa-fe Peugeot 5008 or preferably Serento) but we are paying €385/mo and cannot afford more. Any advice?

Our answer:

Hi Chris,

This is one of the problems with PCP – you’re kind of tied in to staying with Volkswagen, unless you can stump up money for a deposit to fund a new PCP deal with another company (handing the Tiguan back to VW) or, pay the lump sum to own the car and then use it as a trade-in elsewhere. And, for €385 per month, you’re going to struggle to get one of the bigger cars you list below – although have a look at Skoda and any deals on the Kodiaq, as the Czech company is normally very competitive on monthly payments.

But good news: Volkswagen can do you a Tiguan Allspace Comfortline, from €359 pcm on 0 per cent PCP at the moment. The company will also offer you a €1,000 deposit contribution if you finance through Volkswagen Bank and, for €999, you can get a Technology Upgrade on the Comfortline that includes a panoramic sunroof, a Mirror Package, Discover Media satnav and a rear-view camera, worth about €3,800 altogether. Even better, the excellent Tiguan Allspace is a 5+2-seat SUV, so your wife should be pleased as it’s bigger than your current Tiguan!
